The year 2017 was Chicago's 180th birthday as a city. Notable in all those years is how many times Chicago has had to literally take 180-degree turns and change its direction. In 1837, the city of 4000 people was created to be the transfer point for water transport, by 1850, Chicago was emerging as the railroad hub of the North American Continent. The city burned down in 1871 and rose from its ashes to become the greatest city of the 19th Century. Presented by Dave Clark.
