Learn about free continuing education resources from your library - Gale Courses, Lynda.com, Tutor.com, Chicago Tribune Databases, and Mango Languages.
Your WNPL library card provides free, at-home access to a variety of educational materials. Join us for a tour of several these services -- Gale Courses, Lynda.com, Tutor.com, Chicago Tribune Databases, and Mango Languages. Each provides access to unique instructional content that is ideal for continuing education and self-improvement. Gale Courses is a catalog of 6 week, instructor-led classes on topics such as Microsoft products, accounting skills, photography, and SAT/ACT test prep. Lynda.com provides access to short video and transcript technology courses, including exercise files and a cool note taking feature. Mango Languages is an interactive foreign language and ESL module (similar to Rosetta Stone) with proven techniques for language comprehension and retention. Tutor.com provides live homework help for k-12 students. Chicago Tribune and the Tribune Archive provide a real-world glimpse of current events and history. A WNPL library card is required for these services, but many libraries offer these services, so everyone is welcome to attend.
