Celebrate Black History Month by learning about Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African American Woman Astronaut. Then make your very own Space Shuttle in the comfort of your home!
Join Ms. Patty as she reads Mae Among the Stars, an inspiring story about the early life of Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African-American Woman Astronaut to go into space. At an early age, Mae decided to become an astronaut. Her parents would encourage her by saying, "If you can dream it, if you believe in it and you work hard for it, anything is possible!" After storytime, stop by WNPL's main entrance during regular operating hours to pick up a packet featuring Dr. Jemison and containing a Space Shuttle craft. One craft per child. Supplies are limited and will be available on a first come, first served served basis beginning today. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
